LA BELLE VIE HELPS THOSE WITH CANCER FEEL BEAUTIFUL FROM THE INSIDE OUT
Chicago, Illinois --- La Belle Vie, LLC and About Face International, NFP will be hosting the first of a series of Refresh Spa events on Tuesday, August 12th, 2pm-6pm, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Volunteer makeup artists, hairstylists, massage therapists, and estheticians will create a spa-like environment for over 150 cancer patients to help ease the physical and psychological stress of treatment.
In their study of 400 female cancer patients, R.L. Repass & Partners revealed that the majority of these women (69 %) had experienced considerable changes in their physical appearance during treatment. About half the participants sought help to improve their appearance, and reported that by doing so, they not only changed the way they were treated by family and friends, but also felt healthier and more confident.
“Our Refresh Spa event series is all about giving men and women the tools they need to control the physical wear and tear of chemotherapy in order to boost their self-esteem. With that said, our Refresh event series is not all about making someone look good on the outside. Rather, what we hope to do is help these patients to cope with the dramatic changes that they are no doubt experiencing by increasing their confidence and strengthening their outlook,” says Karyn Vostok, Co-President and Founder of About Face International, NFP.
In addition to the Refresh event series, La Belle Vie, LLC offers free mobile beauty and wellness services to men and women combating cancer.
